We are looking for a Data Lead / Head of Analytics to build and scale the data function across our venture builder ecosystem.
This is a hybrid role combining strategic leadership and hands-on execution. You will own the data direction across multiple portfolio companies, help unify their data into a shared platform, and ensure that analytics becomes a real competitive advantage rather than a reporting function.
You will manage a strong team (7-10 people: product analysts and a data engineering team), working closely with product teams, founders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
The role requires someone who is equally comfortable defining long-term data roadmaps, improving processes and analytical culture, mentoring team members — and writing SQL queries, reviewing DAGs in Airflow, or validating dashboards when needed.
Key challenges:
-
Building a unified data platform across multiple portfolio companies
-
Establishing scalable processes and analytical standards
-
Supporting strategic initiatives with reliable data
-
Increasing the maturity and business impact of analytics
Our stack: BigQuery + Superset + Airflow, with active exploration of AI-driven analytics workflows and data agents.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow within a venture environment, shaping the data backbone of multiple products, while staying deeply involved in execution.
Responsibilities:
Strategic & Leadership
-
Define and own the overall data strategy across the venture builder and portfolio companies
-
Develop and prioritize data roadmaps aligned with business goals
-
Introduce new technologies and improve tooling (including AI-driven analytics workflows)
-
Mentor product analysts and manage the Data Engineering team
-
Develop growth plans and performance frameworks for team members
Operational & Cross-Functional
-
Partner with product managers, founders, and stakeholders to define analytical needs
-
Translate business goals into measurable metrics and data models
-
Ensure consistency of KPIs across portfolio companies
-
Support strategic projects with deep analytical involvement
Hands-on Contribution
-
Write and optimize SQL queries in BigQuery
-
Design and review data models
-
Build and review Airflow DAGs
-
Validate dashboards in Superset
Requirements:
Experience
-
5+ years in analytics / data roles, including leadership experience
-
Experience managing analysts
-
Background in product analytics and data infrastructure
Technical Skills
-
Strong SQL (BigQuery or similar DWH)
-
Experience with BI tools (Superset, Looker, Tableau, etc.)
-
Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and pipeline architecture
-
Experience with KPI frameworks and product metrics
-
Interest in applying AI/automation to analytics workflows is a strong plus
Leadership & Mindset
-
Systems thinker with strong ownership mentality
-
Comfortable operating in ambiguity
-
Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
-
Strong communication skills — able to translate data into business decisions
