Wallet in Telegram is a digital asset solution natively embedded into Telegram’s interface. Backed by The Open Platform, Wallet in Telegram gained 100M+ user accounts in 2024, and aims to make its solution available to all 1BN+ of Telegram’s users. Wallet in Telegram offers a dual-wallet experience with Crypto Wallet (a multi-chain wallet for trading and sending crypto to contacts) and TON Wallet (a self-custodial wallet with access to the TON ecosystem of dApps and tokens).

We are looking for a Chief Accountant in Uzbekistan with knowledge of IFRS and the national tax system. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in financial reporting and accounting operations, preferably within the fintech, banking, or payment industries.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the general accounting functions (accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, taxes, Statement of Accounts and Offsetting).
• Follow up on account payables and receivables and related reconciliations (both Crypto/fiat reconciliations).
• Liaise regularly with the direct manager and other internal stakeholders on accounting related inquiries.
• Prepare the payroll and coordinate the closing process on a monthly basis, supervising of accounting Payroll records.
• Participation in the automation of existing processes and implementation of new ones.
• Monitor inventory levels, intangible assets (incl Crypto) and assist in the management of stock depreciation.
• Review, control, Submission and validate tax declarations.
• Tax planning, monitoring changes in legislation.
• Analysis of tax and financial risks.
• Work with external auditors and assist with the required information.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes (monthly reports BS, PL).
• Work closely with other departments, such as finance, operations, compliance, to provide financial insights and support business objectives.
• Preparation of Templates for Crypto Authorities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certifications such as ACCA/CPA will be an advantage).
• 3+ years of experience as a Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant, preferably within FinTech, banking, or payment systems industries.
• Strong knowledge of local accounting standards, national tax regulations, and general familiarity with IFRS (experience with NAPM-related reporting is a plus).
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Joiin; familiarity with crypto accounting tools (e.g., TRES or similar) will be an advantage.
• Proven ability to prepare and review financial statements, tax declarations, and month-end/year-end closing reports (BS, PL).
• Experience in payroll accounting and reconciliation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on identifying and managing financial and tax risks.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience in data validation and analysis.
• Languages: fluent Uzbek and Russian; English – intermediate+ (B1+) level.
